The first demand-responsive bus routes in Chongqing

2023-05-04 14:31:56

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing has launched its first bus routes for demand-responsive transit since April 28, according to Chongqing Public Transport.

Demand-responsive transit consists of buses operating in response to calls from passengers. When the bus is driving to a demand-responsive bus stop and a passenger needs to get off, the passenger can press the “STOP” button which will signal to the driver that he/she needs to pull over at the bus stop; if no passengers need to get off and no passenger is waiting at the bus stop, the bus will drive to the next stop without stopping.

It’s important to note that demand-responsive transit service is only available at designated stops, rather than all bus stops of the line. For detailed information about demand-responsive bus stops, please check the bus route map on the bus.

There will be six demand-responsive bus routes in Chongqing, which include:

Bus 159: from Changshengqiao to Huimin

1

Bus 285: from Zengjia to Baishiyi Wuyuan Shuniu Bus Stop

Bus 520: from Beibei Bus Stop to Jinyun Mountain
