CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On the morning of May 6, at the Yinglong Track Laying Base in Nan’an District, with the regular vibration sound of the welding machine, more than 30 constructors finally seamlessly welded the first pair of steel rails, which marks that Chongqing Rail Transit Line 24 Phase I officially enters the long rail welding stage.

The long rail welding, a process of welding standard-length rails together, is an important part of track laying, also known as the “rail splicing”.

As Chongqing’s first fully automated demonstration metro line, the Metro Line 24 Phase I starts from Lujiaobei Station and ends at Guangyangwan Station, with a total length of approximately 18.82km.
