CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On May 12, the temporary opening of the upgraded section between Shuangshan Tunnel and Wutaishan Interchange in Dadukou District delivered much-needed relief to the area’s congested roadways.

Recently, the main route of the Shuangshan Tunnel-Wutaishan Interchange renovation project—including the elevated Chentuo Road viaduct and Hengsheng Ditong Section—has been partially opened for trial traffic. Spanning 2.94 kilometers, the project connects Shuangshan Tunnel in Dadukou District (southern endpoint) to Wutaishan Interchange in Jiulongpo District (northern endpoint). The transformed main route has been expanded to a six-lane bidirectional highway with a 60 km/h design speed, significantly boosting traffic capacity and flow efficiency.
