CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On June 23, construction was in full swing for the Shawan Grand Bridge, a critical component of the Xi’an-Chongqing High-speed Railway in Beibei.

Spanning 1,610 meters, this bridge ranks among the project’s most demanding structures due to its complex engineering and precision requirements. Crews are currently executing the upper superstructure phase.

The 739-kilometer Xi’an-Chongqing High-speed Railway – designed for 350 km/h operation – forms a vital section of China’s national “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway grid, specifically connecting the Baotou-Yinchuan-Haikou and Beijing-Kunming corridors. Upon completion, it will integrate with existing and planned railway networks, significantly optimizing transportation infrastructure across central and western China and transforming regional connectivity.
