CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On August 25, vehicles traveled along the newly upgraded Damu-Mugen Road (Fuling Section) in Fuling’s Damu Town.

Stretching 7.9 kilometers, this vital artery connects Fuling, Wulong, and Fengdu. Previously, its numerous sharp turns, narrow sections, and severe surface damage hindered travel between the region’s popular summer retreats.

This year, Fuling launched an upgrade project that straightened curves, repaved surfaces, and widened the roadbed from 6 meters to 7.5 meters. Since the renovation concluded in June, the route has seen a surge in self-driving tourists, now seamlessly linking Fuling’s Wuling Mountain area with Wulong’s Fairy Mountain and Fengdu’s Nantian Lake scenic zones.
