CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On November 2, the newly opened Chongqing Children’s Library—located on Longjing Road in the Yuanyang Sub-district of the Liangjiang New Area—was featured, its exterior spreading out like a butterfly’s wings. Having officially opened on November 1, the library, which is one of only four provincial-level children’s libraries in China, is set to bring new vitality to the city’s modern public cultural service system.

With approximately 19,000 square meters of usable space, the library houses a collection of 815,000 volumes and offers 1,040 reading seats, accommodating up to 2,120 visitors at full capacity.

The opening marks another major step in Chongqing’s expanding public reading network. This robust system now includes 42 main branches, 1,807 community branches, and 12,000 reading stations across the city.
