CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- With the full recovery of the tourism industry, consumer enthusiasm for travel has surged. During this year’s Double 12 shopping festival, new consumption models emerged, extending beyond traditional shopping to innovative offerings in the cultural and tourism sectors. One of the most talked-about trends has been the rise of “pre-booked travel packages”.
On platforms like Douyin, many top tourist destinations have launched special ticket deals. For example, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is offering a two-day package for a family of three (two adults and one child) for just over 1,000 yuan. Chongqing resident Wang Feng took advantage of the deal: “The ticket is valid until January 19, 2025, and I only need to book a day in advance. Even if I miss the reservation, the system automatically refunds me.”
As the snowy season in northern China begins, many Chongqing residents are also busy booking their trips. Travel enthusiast Zhang Xinrui, for example, purchased a 199-yuan photoshoot package for the St. Sophia Cathedral in Harbin, planning to visit next week to enjoy the snow, take photos at the cathedral, stroll along Central Street, and explore Ice and Snow World, among other popular attractions.
Meanwhile, several tourist destinations in Chongqing have seized the opportunity during the Double 12 shopping festival to launch their own pre-booked travel packages, successfully attracting a surge of bookings.
For instance, Mexin Wine Town in Chongqing introduced several popular travel packages designed to attract more visitors to experience the destination. Among the most notable is the 45-yuan All-Access Pass, down from its original price of 105 yuan. This pass grants visitors access to nearly 100 attractions within the park, allowing them to enjoy a wide range of activities. Valid until January 1, 2025, the pass can be used by multiple people, providing two full days of access, and is valid during the New Year’s holiday. This deal perfectly meets the diverse needs of visitors, offering a highly affordable and flexible experience.
Industry experts note that “pre-booked travel packages” have become a highly popular new product in the current tourism market. By innovating in both product design and sales models, businesses can offer consumers affordable and flexible travel experiences. At the same time, businesses can tap into and convert latent travel demand, securing bookings even in traditionally slow travel seasons, which ensures a more stable stream of revenue.
