CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In the early hours of March 6, around 3 a.m., the task of realigning the Maojiaba railway was successfully completed, marking the successful integration of the under-construction Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Xiamen High-speed Railway into the “Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals” national rail network.

More than 400 construction workers and over 10 large machines worked tirelessly for nearly 10 hours to accomplish the task. They dismantled 550 meters of existing rail, realigned 480 meters of track, and installed a new set of railway switches, completing the task smoothly.

With the completion of the realignment, the Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Xiamen High-speed Railway is now successfully connected to the operational section between Qianjiang, Changde, and Changsha, laying the foundation for future system testing and adjustments.

Once completed, the Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Xiamen High-speed Railway will reduce travel time from the downtown area to Qianjiang from the current 4 hours to under 1 hour.
