CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On May 25, at Changshou Lake in Changshou District, athletes paddling with all their might, started a fierce competition of strength and speed amidst the picturesque green mountains and clear waters.

On the same day, the 5th Chongqing Dragon Boat Open Championship Finals 2025 was held. Around 550 athletes from 20 top dragon boat teams from Chongqing, Sichuan, Guangdong, and other provinces and cities participated in the finals, starting a fierce competition of strength and speed amidst the picturesque green mountains and clear waters, with the theme of “inheriting the culture of Dragon Boat Festival, carrying forward the spirit of dragon boat”.

It is reported that the event was jointly organized by Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Sports and the People’s Government of Changshou District. The competition continued its tradition by holding 22-person dragon boat races in 200-meter and 500-meter straight courses, while adopting a dual-track model “stage points system + total points ranking”, attracting various teams from across the country to participate.
