CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On May 28, the first main tower of Shituo Yangtze River Bridge along the Chongqing-Wanzhou High-speed Railway was successfully capped, marking a breakthrough in the bridge construction and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent erection of main beams and construction of stay cables.
Shituo Yangtze River Bridge in Fuling District is a control engineering of the entire Chongqing-Wanzhou High-speed Railway. The main bridge is 1,056m long with a main span of 608m. The north bank No. 5 main tower is 234.9m high, and the south bank No. 6 main tower is 253m high.
Chongqing-Wanzhou High-speed Railway is part of Baotou (Yinchuan) Haikou Passage and Beijing-Kunming Passage in China’s “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway network. The line starts from Chongqingdong Railway Station and connects Banan, Fuling, Fengdu, Zhongxian, Wanzhou, etc. along the Yangtze River.
