CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On October 8, inside the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Resources and Products Exhibition Center at the Chongqing University of Chinese Medicine, instructors guided a group of new students through an introduction to TCM specimen identification, coupled with a detailed explanation of their major.

The day marked the arrival and registration of the university’s 1,800 freshmen for the 2025 academic year. Notably, the first cohort of 35 students enrolled in the new Cultivation and Identification of Chinese Herbal Medicine major received a unique welcome: their “First Professional Lesson” was identifying medicinal herbs immediately upon stepping onto campus. To celebrate the orientation day, the university also hosted engaging activities that showcased the wonders of TCM. These included free consultations by renowned TCM experts, demonstrations of distinctive TCM therapies, and AI-powered health checkups. These hands-on experiences attracted large numbers of students and parents eager to experience the remarkable allure of traditional Chinese medicine.
