CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In recent days, Chongqing has experienced continuous rain and steadily dropping temperatures. The latest meteorological monitoring showed that the downtown areas officially met the criteria for autumn on October 13. In terms of the entire municipality, Chengkou was the first to enter autumn on September 6, while most districts and counties entered autumn on October 12 and 13. According to the standard, autumn begins when the average daily temperature remains below 22°C for five consecutive days, with the first day when the temperature falls below 22°C marking the start of the season. From the start of summer on April 8 until October 12, Chongqing experienced summer for 188 days, setting a new record for the longest summer in the downtown areas since 1951.

Due to the continued influence of weak cold air, temperatures in most areas of Chongqing have dropped below 20°C, with rain gradually easing from October 21. On the night of October 24, Chongqing is expected to experience another round of light rainfall. (Photographed by Zhu Ting and Yin Shiyu / Visual Chongqing)
